What is individual counseling?

Individual counseling is one-on-one mental health therapy. At Bridges, individual therapy sessions are all virtual. 

During telehealth sessions, you connect directly with a highly trained counselor to get personalized mental health support in a calm, comforting atmosphere. All sessions are private and just as secure as in an office. 

Individual therapy also includes access to your patient portal and a direct messaging system where you can connect with an expert in mental health whenever necessary. 

When might I need individual counseling?

Individual counseling can help if you’re struggling with your mental health. Some examples of why people seek individual counseling include:

One of the main approaches that the team uses for individual counseling is psychodynamic therapy. In this type of therapy, you delve into your past (including your childhood) to better understand how you think and feel today. 

Psychodynamic therapy and other evidence-based therapies can help you understand your mental health needs. Therapy gives you valuable insights that you can use to overcome challenges, grow, and be your best.
